A road disappears into the hills as daylight fades. The noise of the outside world grows distant, footsteps slow down, and suddenly the smallest sounds seem to matter. That feeling sits at the heart of “In the Silence of the Hills,” the latest single from Moon and Aries, a transatlantic duo whose music continues to blur the boundaries between electronic atmosphere, organic instrumentation and emotional storytelling.

Released on October 2, 2026, the single presents Moon and Aries in an unusually restrained setting. There is no drumbeat pushing the composition forward and no crowded production competing for attention. Instead, the track unfolds patiently, giving its piano, analog synth textures, cello, guitar and saxophone enough room to breathe. Jordana Moon’s vocal performance brings the emotional centre into focus, carrying a sense of vulnerability that feels natural rather than overstated.

The recording itself reflects the international character of Moon and Aries. Tom Aries began the piece in Germany before its developing musical ideas travelled to Canada, London and Switzerland. Jordana Moon shaped the song through her vocals and lyrics, while Zara Hudson Kozdoj, Peter J. Mitchell and Hanna Marchand added instrumental performances from their respective locations. Tom Aries ultimately brought those separate contributions together, creating a cohesive arrangement from musicians working across considerable distance.

At its core, “In the Silence of the Hills” is about finding perspective when modern life becomes too loud. The spacious production reinforces that idea without forcing it, allowing the listener to settle into the atmosphere and discover the emotional details gradually.

The single also introduces another important chapter in the Moon and Aries story. As the fourth track from the forthcoming five song “Prairie Souls” EP, it moves their cinematic electronic sound toward a more organic landscape, where live instrumentation and human expression sit comfortably alongside carefully crafted electronic textures. There is confidence in this kind of restraint. “In the Silence of the Hills” does not demand attention. It earns it quietly, creating a reflective listening experience that lingers after the final note.
