Tallulah Rendall Turns Fear Into Light on “Run”

What happens when the thing you have spent years trying to escape is not outside you, but living quietly within? And what if, instead of running again, you finally stopped long enough to listen? Tallulah Rendall’s Run begins somewhere close to that question.

The third single from her forthcoming seventh album Only Human, Run is an intimate and cinematic alt pop ballad that places panic, fear and emotional survival at the centre of its story. Rendall does not disguise the discomfort. Her vocal delivery carries the fragility of someone confronting an old pattern while slowly discovering that fear does not have to remain in control. The song builds with remarkable patience. Rendall’s background as a Qigong teacher, sound therapist, singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist adds another dimension to the track. That idea extends beautifully into the accompanying video, filmed within Bruce Munro’s extraordinary Fireflies light installation. Illuminated pathways and shifting darkness create a striking visual counterpart to the song, turning the landscape itself into part of Rendall’s emotional narrative.

Following the recognition surrounding I Am Enough on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Run continues Rendall’s deeply personal exploration of resilience, healing and the complicated ways people learn to live with their past. There is no easy resolution here, and that is precisely where the song finds its strength. Run leaves space for uncertainty while still moving towards hope, making it a compelling introduction to the world of Only Human.
