Starry Venus’ SOUL EP is a radiant journey through sound, spirit, and story. Six tracks move like constellations across a deeply felt emotional landscape. There’s an undeniable cohesion to the entire project, each piece carrying its own light while orbiting a central truth: transformation through presence. While every song on the EP offers its own kind of resonance, I find myself returning most often to three tracks: “Do You Feel It,” “Million Years,” and “This Moment.” These are the ones I want to speak on, not because they’re more important than the others, but because they seem to hold the emotional spine of the record.
“Do You Feel It” is where the invitation begins. There’s something instantly intimate in the opening lines: “It’s your water that’s wash over me… it’s healing and it’s all within.” It feels like a cleansing, not just metaphorical but sonic. The production glows with a weightless balance of layered vocals, soft percussion, and luminous synth textures. The question posed in the chorus, “Do you feel alright?” lands like an offering. There’s an undercurrent of collective rising here, one that pulses beneath the line “This could be the night we rise up like Venus.” The track doesn’t push, it flows, offering space for the listener to feel their way back to themselves.
From there, “Million Years” takes a step inward. The track feels like sacred ground, both literally and sonically. It’s grounded in a slow-burning rhythm with gentle keyboard layers and a vocal delivery that feels more like remembering than performing. “It only took me a million years to find myself standing here,” Starry sings, and the line lingers, timeless in its truth. There’s a sense of cosmic patience in this song, a recognition that becoming who we are often takes longer than we expect but it’s always right on time. The repetition of “talking to you” becomes a kind of mantra, a conversation with the divine or perhaps simply with the self, uninterrupted and unguarded.
“This Moment” closes this reflection with softness and grace. The lyrics “I’m sorry, I love you, I’ll forgive you” circle around like breath, like a prayer. Starry’s voice carries tenderness without fragility, and the production leaves space for each word to land with clarity. “Thank you for this moment” she repeats, grounding the song in presence. It’s a quiet exhale, a recognition of the sacred in the now. These three tracks, each in their own way, hold space for healing, remembrance, and reverence. And in listening, we’re invited to do the same.
