There was a moment some time back when I first encountered Angel Haniel’s Clearing by Karen Salicath Jamali. I remember writing briefly about it then, noting its stillness, the softness in its touch. But I didn’t fully grasp what it offered until I returned to it recently in a quieter moment, needing something beyond distraction.

This piece doesn’t ask to be noticed. It waits. And when the world around you finally quiets, it steps forward gently like a friend who knows how to sit with you without speaking. The piano is featherlight, almost translucent, and yet there is weight in it too. The kind of emotional gravity that comes not from complexity, but from truth.

Composed in a dream and carried by the energy of Archangel Haniel, the music feels like a transmission from somewhere between realms. It is not dramatic or grand. It is precise in its tenderness. Each note seems to emerge from stillness and dissolve right back into it. It clears space, just as the title promises. In your thoughts, in your body, in the emotional clutter we all carry unknowingly.

Jamali’s story, shaped by a near-death awakening, adds layers to the experience. She composes not as a technician but as a conduit. Not trying to impress, but to heal. You can feel that here, deeply. The sonic clarity, guided by Maria Triana’s expert mastering, allows the music to do exactly what it intends. Exist in its purest form, untouched by overproduction or ego.

And then there is the artwork. Jamali’s own visual language joining hands with the sound. It does not just accompany the piece. It extends it. The way sound becomes color, and color becomes stillness again.

Listening now, I realize Angel Haniel’s Clearing is not the kind of piece you “review” in the traditional sense. It is something you return to. When you are ready. When you need space to feel, or to feel nothing at all.

Let the music guide you into stillness.
