London’s ever-evolving underground scene has always thrived on artists willing to take risks, and Big O’s new album, When It’s Not Said, But Done, proves that boldness still pays off. Released on September 26, 2025, the project positions him as both a craftsman of sound and a storyteller who lets his music speak louder than declarations ever could.

The record is built on a philosophy of restraint, of creating without overexplaining. In doing so, Big O delivers something strikingly personal yet universally resonant. Where his earlier work leaned into comfort zones, this album shows a producer stepping into unexplored terrain with refreshing confidence. Drawing on the spirit of innovators such as Madlib, J Dilla, Four Tet, and Kiefer, Big O avoids imitation and instead channels his ethos of fearless experimentation into something distinctly his own.

Across its tracks, the album fuses rhythmic layers that pull from Afrobeats, hip-hop, and R&B, while maintaining an undercurrent of reflection and calm. Rather than overwhelming with density, the music feels deliberate, with each detail carefully measured and each texture adding to the narrative of growth. Relaxing My Emotions,” the third single, captures this perfectly and embodies the tension between restraint and release that defines the record as a whole.

Recorded entirely in his London home studio, When It’s Not Said, But Done is intimate in setting yet expansive in scope. It is the kind of project that challenges the listener to sit with it, to absorb its shifts, and to embrace the unexpected. The release marks a new chapter for Big O as a producer and also stands as a reminder that true artistry often comes not from promises, but from practice, risk, and trust in the creative process.

Fans will have the chance to hear these ideas brought to life when Big O takes the stage at Audio Arcade on October 11th at Four Quarters. If the album reflects quiet determination, the live setting will be where his ideas erupt into full force.
