Atlanta born singer songwriter Katie Belle returns with her latest single “Cigarette,” a raw and sultry dive into the intoxicating haze of past love. Released on May 9th 2025 and produced in collaboration with LA based producer Fabio Campedelli, the track marks a continuation of Belle’s evolution as a deeply confessional and emotionally resonant artist.

Opening with the lines “It's been such a long time, you've been on my head. I know we're just talking, I know we're just friends,” Katie sets the tone with a whisper soft vulnerability that feels almost intrusive to witness. There’s a fragility here, an unspoken tension that lingers like smoke in the lungs, aching to be exhaled.

The production, guided by Campedelli’s deft hand and elevated by the mixing of Lukas Cuman and mastering by Sanjeeve Easwar, stays minimal but immersive. Soft beats and ambient textures frame Belle’s voice, allowing her lyrics to breathe. And breathe they do, each line hits with the intimacy of a diary entry. “Just another old vice, like smoking cigarettes,” she sings, drawing a clear parallel between physical cravings and emotional dependencies.

What makes “Cigarette” especially gripping is its sensual, aching chorus “Between your fingertips, pull me to your lips. Kiss me like you need it, honey, come and get your fix.” It’s a hook that’s both physical and metaphorical, tethering love and addiction in one breathless phrase. The song crescendos with a tension that never quite resolves “We could skip the talk and do what we do best. Underneath the bedsheets, nicotine and sex.” It’s a love story smeared in ash and perfume, memory and fantasy.

Recorded in Los Angeles, the track feels like a turning point for Belle, her lyrical edge sharper, her voice more confident yet unmistakably tender. With a growing live presence in the Southeast and a recent buzzworthy set at Virginia Highlands Porchfest, Katie Belle isn’t just reminiscing on past sparks, she’s igniting new ones. “Cigarette” is the kind of song that lingers long after the last note, like smoke curling into the night.
