It’s been nearly a year since Aymee last graced us with new music, and in that time, it seems she’s been quietly gathering storm clouds. Her latest release “Voices” is not just a comeback, it’s a reckoning.

The track opens in near-whispers, a ghost-like hush that feels less like a beginning and more like a memory resurfacing. It’s that kind of song, the kind that creeps in slowly, wraps around your ribs, and stays there. Built on a moody foundation of minimal beats and shadowy synths, “Voicesmanages to sound both intimate and cinematic, like a secret confession echoing down a long hallway.

Lyrically, Aymee doesn’t hold back. There’s an ache in her voice as she sings about guilt, gaslighting, and the kind of emotional residue that doesn’t wash off easily. It’s a slow unravelling, less concerned with resolution and more focused on the raw, thorny process of realization. The chorus doesn’t explode, and that’s the point. It simmers, it smoulders. And when it hits, it really hits.

There are clear sonic parallels to artists like Billie Eilish and BANKS, but Aymee’s perspective feels singular. There’s no mimicry here. Just lived-in pain, beautifully rendered. Every note sounds like it cost something.

“Voices” would feel right at home on playlists like Sad Hour or pop noir, but it also carves out its own lane, somewhere between dark-pop and emotional exorcism. It’s the kind of track you put on late at night when the silence is too loud and your thoughts won’t sit still.

Aymee isn’t just back. She’s baring teeth through velvet, turning ghosts into poetry. And if this is where her new era begins, I’m listening.
